Welcome back!
This is Gizmo. He is a smart little man who loves to grab his food with his front paws to eat. He plays with crunchies by sending them across the room, then pouncing on it for running away. The other kitty in our house is Kitty (Original, I know). Gizmo pounces on her too and then runs.

Does the one who plays with his food have any Maine Coon in him? My sister has a Maine Coon (maybe mix) who does the same thing. It’s hilarious to watch her pull one out of the bowl, kick it around a bit (she likes if I get in the game too and I call it “playing hockey”), then pick it up and eat it like she has hands.
Also, she loves to find my sister’s hair ties and throw them in her water bowl, then scoop them out with her paw. She’ll find one and trot all the way down to the kitchen just to do it. Not sure why.
Gizmo is a cat from my Mom’s backyard. He is a Heinz 57. We know who his mom and dad are but that is about it. His dad does the playing with food thing too.
You are so right. It is hilarious to watch. Gizmo no longer has his front claws but it does not stop him from digging food out, pop it out into the middle of the floor, then pounce on it. The food pops out and skitters across the carpet. Gizmo runs after it to “kill”.
