Is The Writing On The Wall A Terrorist Plot?

Posted by: From Arkansas in Are You Kidding Me?, Shame of America on Jul 11 2007

Welcome back!

Today on GMA, I saw a report that just about floored me. Most things don’t these days. That is a huge red flag for me anyway. But, this was a young girl in Houston, Texas, who was in an apparently boring class in the gym (we all found those, right?) and decided to do something many kids do whether it is right or wrong, in this case wrong.

She was sitting next to a wall that had a bunch of graffiti on it. She got out a sharpie and drew a heart. Then she wrote inside it the words “I love Alex”. Another girl was writing something about another person at the same time. When the other girl was called into the office for it, she told them that this particular girl, age 12 by the way, had done the heart so she was also called in. There was a police officer there in the principal’s office. It made her frightened so when they asked her if she had done that, she denied it at first. Then, she did confess to the deed.

Now, what do you suppose the punishment should be for defacing school property? My guess is to paint over the graffiti and have some detention time. Good guess, right? Yeah well, that was not what the Katy, Texas school system decided for this person. She was given what supposed terrorists get….she is to go to an alternative school for four months. This is the type of school that gang members go to. It’s what they do with the drug kids and other extreme infractions. This girl is 12 years old and never been in trouble at school in her life. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????????

Where is the justice in this action? Katy, Texas school system, you have your nerve doing this to a young lady who has not been in trouble before and who only wrote something loving on the wall. YES, she did a wrong thing. She should be punished..so say her parents. However, how harsh do you have to be to a girl that age for an infraction like writing a love note on the wall??? Excuse me??? I smell lawsuits rising even as we speak. And this school system is apparently pursuing this into the criminal court too. She has to go to court for this. Oh brother.

WAKE UP!!! What are we doing to our children here? Katy, Texas, where is your common sense? I have realized there is no such thing where people are concerned anyway. Are you so hopeless as to treat a girl that way? Not enough excitement in your town lately? Well, you have national attention now. Enjoy if you can. I wouldn’t. If I were you, I would be ashamed. You get my SHAME OF AMERICA vote for today. How could you??

That’s just plain crazy. Talk about throwing the book at someone, this just seems unfair.

I totally agree. The schools need to deal with these things in a more sensible manner or the kids are going to end up doing the very things they are afraid of.
