Playstation Price Slashed To Boost Lagging Sales

Posted by: From Arkansas in Give Me A Break on Jul 09 2007

Welcome back!

In the first place, I am not a fan of these game systems. Having a computer, I see that a person who needs to spend mountains of time playing games could do so on a computer that has other uses as well. Like work at home or watching weather problems and the news. There are a lot of things one can do besides play games.

Now, please understand, I do enjoy games too. What I am concerned about is the idea that the game system is strictly for nothing but games. Do you see that the companies that put these things out are just about reaching into your pockets and grabbing what money they want? Apparently, these things are what “everybody” wants.

And now, Sony Corp. is dropping the prices $100 to $499 in an effort to boost the lagging sales or so they say is the reason. And why are we doing such a thing? Because there is going to be a NEW and IMPROVED version and they have tons of the older stuff on the shelves. Oh, they are so looking out for the gamers. Uh huh. The new and improved model, Playstation3, has more harddrive space. You can download more videos and high-def movies! Oh goodie. And guess what? They will price the new and improved version at…..TADA!!!………Oh, go on. Guess……$599.  Shocker! *rolls her eyes*

Does no one see a problem here? What is wrong with this picture? More mindless gaming, more hours of ignoring homework and family. More problems with teens and adults. More everything you didn’t want to have to deal with in your life. Somebody needs to get a clue.
