Budget Stalemate In Pennsylvania–Offices Shut Down
Posted by: From Arkansas in Political News, Shame of America, What's Wrong With This Picture? on Jul 08 2007
Welcome back!
Due to a budget negotiations stalemate in the state of Pennsylvania, Governor Ed Rendell has shut down a number of government offices indefinitely and sent employees home on an indefinite furlough….unpaid.
Now let me get this straight. The Legislature of Pennsylvania, while still being paid to work themselves, are in a stalemate that is going to put 24,000 state workers that were decided were not essential to health and safety out in the street INDEFINITELY until they battle through the budget problems.
Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture???? I DO!!! The politicians are getting paid to argue while the ones who make up the biggest share of the state jobs are out on their…behinds without pay as of MONDAY MORNING. Oh hey, that was great notice. Way to go, Pennsylvania. Makes me want to move there right now!!! Are you people out of your minds?
Okay, if you live in Penn. you will not be able to get a driver’s license, see a state run museum or watch your highway maintenance dollars at work for the forseeable future. Does that mean if a person has a driver’s license that’s overdue, the cops are not going to give ‘em a ticket and the state isn’t going to fine them for not being on time? Uh huh. Bet they still get fined and pulled over and a ticket. That’s the law! Uh huh. Penn. legislature needs to get a major clue and SOON!!!
