Libby Pardon A Possibility

Welcome back!
The White House is refusing to rule out the possibility of a pardon for Scooter Libby. Unfortunately, that means that President Bush is getting slammed over and over by his critics and the media. So far, Pres. Bush has commuted his sentence so that he does not have to go to prison. He says the jail time is excessive. However, Libby still has to face the fact that he has a two year probation, a $250,000 fine,he will likely lose his career and he does have a felony conviction on his record.
The White House says that this isn’t just a slap on the wrist. True. But if anyone else had done this, they would be in jail for two and a half years, have the whole fine to pay and would lose their career not to mention the felony conviction on record when they got out. There is something wrong with this picture.
Fast criticism comes from the Democrats, of course. They take any opportunity to bash the other side. It is, after all, about to be an election year. Got to get that two cents in there before the iron gets too hot, right? I have to say that I am not certain that Mr. Bush should have done this right now? Perhaps it would have been better after Mr. Libby had served some time in jail. I am conflicted though. Not totally sure the man is guilty in the first place. Well, in the meanwhile, what is wrong with this picture?
