Obama Outdistancing Clinton On Funds Raised
Posted by: From Arkansas in My Take on Things on Jul 01 2007
Welcome back!
It seems that Mr. Obama is beginning to pull away from Ms. Clinton in fund raising for the primary elections. And here we are again talking about the elections. ACK!
But, I have to say that it is not surprising that someone would outdistance her in this. The problem that I see is that the gentleman is good at raising funds but is he any good at running a country? I have not been convinced of this as yet. He is inexperienced in federal politics since he is only a first term senator at the moment. I have to wonder what it is that we do not know about this man and how he is willing to decide things.
Another candidate, John Edwards, has been furiously raising funds as well though not as well as Mr. Obama. We do know a bit more about him but his views on a few things are not what I am looking for in a candidate though he isn’t far off.
All of this tells us that the Dems are hot on the trail of the White House. I can see that they do not want to give the current, “lame duck” (I really hate that term. Sounds fowl.) President, any more credit than is humanly possible so they are campaigning to shoot down anything and everything that he wants even if it is not great for the country. All of this raises funds because the Dems are feeding the fires of those who need a change. Ergo, the cash.
What we really need is a person who is willing to do the right thing no matter what. Sometimes that is a lonely spot to be in. Maybe someday we can have that type of person in the White House. If not, the country is likely to go farther downhill than it is already.

I would have to agree with you about Mr. Obama. He is good at fund raising, but has little to no experience at anything else. I have yet to see anything where he provided any thing resembling leadership.
I would suggest that Joseph Biden is willing to do the right thing no matter what, but that is not biding well for him when it comes to fund raising and I think he’s pretty much out of contention for the Presidency, but not necessarily out for VP.
