I Get Slammed For My Belief On Stem Cells
Posted by: From Arkansas in Commentary on Jul 01 2007
Welcome back!
Once again, I find myself defending the stance I have taken on stem cell research. So that you are all up to speed, I do not believe in the need or ethics of doing stem cell research if it includes the growing of fertile cells for the purpose of killing it to do research. I do not believe in stem cells to heal if they come from an unborn child…otherwise known by the media and anyone who chooses to dehumanize the baby….a fetus.
Please believe me, I am all for finding a cure or at least treatment for those diseases that stem cells will help. I do believe in research. I simply cannot see why it is necessary or right in any sense of the word to kill one individual to please another whether that is about abortion or curing disease. There ARE OTHER WAYS. Get a clue, people.
Stem cells from the fluid of the umbilical cord are useful for this. It kills no one. Stem cells from adults kill no one.
I know that this is going to get me hit with other people’s comments but my standing on this is important to me. Abortion is selfish, selfish, selfish regardless of the reason. I know. People are going to say…what about the rape victim. Okay, what about the unborn child who is an even bigger victim here. What about those who desire to do the deed but then it is inconvenient to have a child. WHY DIDN’T YOU THINK OF THAT WHEN YOU HAD SEX???????
Stem cell research is great as long as it does not require some selfish reason for it. Killing children to help an adult who has already had a life is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. Get it? Got it. So, bring it on with your comments.
One note: Any comments left that include nasty words, hateful words or any really dirogatory statements will be removed. For the record, I do NOT remove any comments simply because they disagree with me. I have proved that one already.
